Professor of Economics at the University of Oxford, Senior Research Fellow at St Hugh's College.
Having worked for many years at the Bank of England, he is now a member of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council. Specializing in macroeconomics, monetary policy, and central bank communication, he has been commissioned by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to teach central bank officials and policymakers in various Asian countries, helping to enhance their professional capabilities. Professor McMahon's research has been frequently published in top-tier journals such as The Quarterly Journal of Economics and The Review of Economic Studies, solidifying his prominent position in the economics community at Oxford and globally.

Nicola Ranger leads Environmental Resilience and Martin Systems Resilience at the University of Oxford. Ranger has developed stress testing methods with the IMF, World Bank, NGFS, and the UK Climate Financial Risk Forum.
